Overview

Alexandria was founded in 331 BC. Alexandria was known in ancient times as the mermaid of the Mediterranean, while it is now called Alexandria and was named after Alexander the Great  who built it. It is the second urban city in Egypt after Cairo and is considered its second capital. Today, it is a major tourist destination
